I filled out an online app for a WaMu card. It didn’t give me the instant approval but said I would hear something from them. Well 2 weeks has passed and still no word. My question is. Do they have to send a letter to you one way or the other stating whether you were approved or denied?
I applied for one with them a few years back after they approved to finance our mortgage. I got a letter I guess…oh 2-3 weeks later telling me I was approved and what my limit was. However, I wasn’t approved for the amount I applied for; it was a lot lower. So don’t lose hope just yet.
If they deny you, they are required by law to send you a letter telling you so and explaining why.
my credit score is 684. are there any credit card websites where I can get instant approval online AND get rush delivery shipping so I can get the credit card in 2-3 days? Also, is 684 good or fair credit (b/c I need to apply for the right card!).
I read your previous question, and put it together with this one into one answer for you. Capital One will not give you a second account, you may only have 1 account at a time. SOME card issuers DO overnight cards to you after it has been processed. Do not be fooled by others saying that they wont do it. My BOA card was rushed overnight to me a few years back when I took the fam on vacation. Some companies will charge the fee to ship it. There is a problem here, you have decnt credit, which most companies will probably not approve you instantly, and will say to wait 14 business days for approval status, which means from the sound of your situation, you will keep applying at other places. This will put bad marks on your credit, further hurting your chances of approval.
In closing, think about whether or not you REALLY need to go on this cruise. Also, think about if you can afford to pay the card back. From how it sounds to me, you can’t afford this trip. It is not a necessity, maybe call your parents.
i am a senior in college and really struggling to pay for rent. my school loans are paying for tuition but the left over money will not be here in time to pay for my rent. i really need help finding some extra money

People keep arguing over who’s to blame, Republicans or Democrats?
So I did some research on it all:
The Glass-Steagall Act was created in the 1930’s to prevent the Great Depression from ever happening again by separating regular banks (retail banks) from investment institutions by a “firewall” and illegalized credit-swaps which had created the massive losses by investment firms caught in the Crash (because they were like unregulated gambling side-bet “insurance claims” which had no guarantees of money to back them up). So the Glass-Steagall Act kept Wallstreet risks from harming and affecting regular banks (retail banks), and kept Wallstreet protected from the massive losses of gambling with credit-swaps.
What Happened?
Bills to repeal the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act were introduced to the U.S. Senate by Phil Gramm (R-Texas) and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Jim Leach (R-Iowa). The bills were >opposed by the majority of Democrats<, but after some re-writing were passed as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act signed by Bill Clinton. This act tore down Glass-Steagall’s firewall of protection between investment firms and regular banks, allowing their systems to reintegrate.
Who’s To Blame?
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act: The bill that gutted the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act’s separation of banks vs. investment firms.
Courtesy of Phil Gramm (R-Texas), Jim Leach (R-Iowa), and Thomas J. Bliley, Jr. (R-Virginia).
Who Then Added Insult To Injury?
Several of the exact same people of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (which gutted Glass-Steagall’s banking firewall) then initiated the “Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000” and set up a financial house of cards. This act allowed credit-swaps (outlawed by Glass-Steagall) to come back into play. So people could once again “buy cheap insurance bets” that “covered” losses on stocks. But, the credit-swaps weren’t governed by insurance laws which guarantee that the money paid out actually exists and is safely tucked away. So all the firms tangled up with them suddenly got caught either paying out of pocket to investors or losing the money they bought them with. To make it all even more ugly a lot of loans connected to them were also involved.
Who’s To Blame… Again?
H.R. 4541: Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000
Sponsor: Rep. Thomas Ewing (Rep.). Cosponsors, Rep. Bill Barrett (Rep.), Saxby Chambliss (Rep.), Gilbert Gutknecht (Rep.).
(Only 4 people said “No”: Ron Paul (Rep.), Peter DeFazio (Dem.), Gene Taylor (Dem.), and Nick Smith, Nick (Rep.)
This Bill then went to the Senate as Bill S.2697…
S.2697
Title: “A bill to reauthorize and amend the Commodity Exchange Act to promote legal certainty, enhance competition, and reduce systemic risk in markets for futures and over-the-counter derivatives, and for other purposes”…
Sponsor: Sen Lugar, Richard G. (R-IN). Cosponsors: Sen Fitzgerald, Peter (R-IL), and Sen Gramm, Phil (R-TX)
And then of course it was passed with Bush’s stamp of approval.
Meanwhile people’s mortgages were being re-packaged into “mortgage securities” as stocks for investors to buy. Lot’s of the investors made “side bets” by buying credit-swaps as insurance in case the mortgage securities went sour from home owner foreclosures…
The market went sour, the mortgage securities tanked, the credit-swap “insurance” had to be paid, and We the People are now paying for all the losses…
A Little Side Note:
Phil Gramm is vice-chairman of UBS Investment Bank, >a financial services company based in Switzerland<. Gramm’s wife, Wendy Lee Gramm, was on the board of directors of Enron when it famously collapsed. Most recently he was co-chair of John McCain’s presidential campaign and his most senior economic adviser until saying we were a nation of “whiners”…
I say it was a handful of Republicans, but the Democrats just jumped on board and played along.
What do you say?

I’m looking for a credit card that I can apply for online and get an instant approval or disapproval. I’m looking for something that is actually authentic and not a scam. I need the money soon but it’s not a big rush I just wanna try finding something so my worries can be lessened for awhile. Does anyone know of any credit cards I can apply for online and get results if i’m approved or not or maybe an online loan. If anyone knows anything PLEASE let me know. I have no checking account or anything. Thanks!
One should never get a credit card to lessen worries, credit cards should not be used to make ends meet. That is how people get into trouble with credit cards.
My partner and I are trying to get my credit up to a better rating. I know that if I’m added to his credit card as a ‘responsible party’ his good credit will help mine. What I can’t find the answer to is, will my poor credit effect his?
As long as he is the first on the card/loan, then the bank will mostly look at his credit for finance. This is why most everyone with bad credit needs a co-signer, to get decent interest rates.
I think Hillery Clinton summarized Saddam’s relationship with 9/11 best ..
In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002
As a sanctuary and an aid to al qaeda the threat of WMD including nuclear possibilities made him an important target for the well being of the US and the world. Afghanistan alone is not a threat , it did not have the capabilities of Iraq which is why both areas became targets..
Does anyone know for a fact if when you apply online for a Discover credit card, that they give you an instant notification if you’ve been approved or not? I’m looking for a card company that gives instant approvals, and you ultimately have the card around 7-10 days. Thanks!
Go to: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/Discover.html and apply online for a best credit card according to your choice and get instant approval.
I found a huge credit card directory… Does the credit card you apply for make a difference on your credit report?
If I apply for a poor credit credit card – http://www.affiliatetier.com/credit_repair/credit_cards.php – Would this effect my credit report?
If I apply for a really great credit card like American Express Blue: http://www.affiliatetier.com/credit_repair/credit_cards.php?review=23 – Would this look good on my credit report if I am approved? And would this look really bad on my report if I am denied compared to a poor credit credit card?
I have been reviewing all the credit cards: http://www.affiliatetier.com/credit_repair/credit_cards.php & found http://www.affiliatetier.com/credit_repair/credit_cards.php?review=23 to have an overall rating and benefit rating as the highest so far… I am scared to apply if I get turned down and it shows on my credit report as being turned down by a GOOD credit card…
Your credit report and score doesn’t care if you have prime or subprime cards. But, if you have a subprime card on your reports (like Aspire) and try applying for a prime, the prime company may notice. (That doesn’t necessarily mean getting denied with a prime company though. But it might(?) mean a lower limit or higher scores)
As for applying "through" that site you’ve listed, I wouldn’t recommend it. Always go to the home site of the credit card you are applying for. Don’t trust putting your sensitive info on any application through a site like the one you listed.
I’m not saying that particular site is bad, I don’t know, but I do know that people have had their ID’s stolen by going through similar sites when applying.
As for the Amex Blue, it is hard to get unless you have pretty good credit. Most Amex cards are hard to get without a good credit history, but Blue is one of the harder ones.
Since you didn’t list your scores or your baddies on your reports you might go to the link I’ve provided. Click on forums then look at the upper right corner for CreditPulls.
You can put your score (or a few points higher score) and click on the search button. When the results come up, click on score and it will sort it from the highest to lowest scores. It will list many different things – what card it is, if the person was approved or not. How much the credit line is. Many times it will say what baddies were on the peoples reports at the time of applying. And much more.
After looking through that, you might look through the credit forum. Do searches on the card you are thinking about and then read of others experiences when applying etc.
You might also learn how to deal with any baddies on your reports if you have any.
